Bhubaneswar: The IMD on Saturday issued a Yellow alert for 13 Odisha districts, warning of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning at a few places during the next three hours.
According to the Nowcast Warning issued by the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar at 7:15 pm, the weather alert is in force for Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Anugola, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj and Baleshwar districts.
The Met Centre advised people in the affected areas to remain alert and keep a watch on changing weather conditions, particularly in view of the possibility of worsening conditions.
The warning comes amid continued thunderstorm and rainfall activity over several parts of the state during the ongoing monsoon season.
People have been advised to plan their activities accordingly and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety during the period of the warning.
