Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department has issued a nowcast warning for light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds over nine districts of Odisha.
According to the warning issued at 2:10 pm today, light rain with thunderstorms and wind speeds of 30-40 kmph is very likely to occur during the next three hours in the Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Nayagarh, Khordha, Ganjam, Jajpur, Puri and Mayurbhanj.
The Met Centre, Bhubaneswar has advised people in these districts to stay alert, keep a close watch on the weather, and take necessary precautions for their safety in case conditions worsen. People are requested to avoid taking shelter under trees during thunderstorms and secure loose objects that could be affected by strong winds.
