Bhubaneswar: Elaborate and strict security measures have been put in place for the one-day special session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly scheduled to be held on April 30.
According to officials, as many as 70 platoons of police force will be deployed to maintain law and order. The Assembly complex will be placed under a three-tier security cordon. Apart from regular police, the Special Tactical Unit (STU), Dog Squad, Bomb Squad, and the Fire Services Department have also been assigned duties. Moreover, Section 144 CrPC is likely to be imposed at the Lower PMG Square to restrict the movement of people and vehicles.
It may be mentioned that the special one-day session will begin at 11 am on April 30. The Odisha Legislative Assembly Secretariat has already issued a notification regarding the session. The notification states that the session has been convened to discuss the role and contribution of women in India’s democracy, with special focus on the Women’s Reservation Bill.
