Traffic Advisory Issued Ahead Of Amit Shah’s Bhubaneswar Visit

Bhubaneswar: The Police Commissionerate of Bhubaneswar–Cuttack on Tuesday issued a traffic advisory ahead of Union Home Minister and Cooperation Minister of India, Amit Shah’s two-day visit to Odisha on March 5 and 6. The minister is scheduled to attend several official programmes in the capital city.

In view of the safety of the dignitary and to ensure smooth traffic movement, the Commissionerate has imposed temporary restrictions on several key roads in Bhubaneswar. The advisory has been issued under Section 28 of the Odisha Urban Police Act, 2003 and in accordance with Regulation 36 of the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissionerate (Traffic and Public Order) Regulation, 2008.

Road Closures and Timings:

  • March 5, 2026 | 8:00 PM – 8:45 PM: Airport Square, Hospital Square, AG Square (left turn – Lok Bhavan Square, right turn – Power House Square), 120 Bn Square, Shastri Nagar Square, Behera Sahi Square, Jaydev Vihar Square, XIMB Square.

On March 6, 2026, vehicles will not be allowed to ply on or enter certain areas of the capital city, including the roads listed below, from connecting lanes or by-lanes, at the specified date and time.

Traffic Advisory

The Commissionerate has advised commuters and residents to avoid the affected routes, use alternate roads wherever possible, and plan their journeys in advance to allow extra travel time. Motorists are also urged to cooperate with traffic personnel and follow instructions to ensure smooth traffic regulation.

Police officials clarified that the restrictions will not apply to emergency vehicles such as fire engines and ambulances. Police have appealed to the public for cooperation to ensure the success of the event and maintain smooth traffic flow in the city.
