Bhubaneswar: The Police Commissionerate of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack on Sunday issued a detailed traffic advisory for July 14 and 15, in view of the visit of President Droupadi Murmu to Odisha.
According to the advisory, the President will be attending various programmes across Bhubaneswar and Cuttack during her two-day visit. To ensure the safety and security of the dignitary and maintain smooth traffic flow in the twin cities, certain traffic restrictions have been imposed under the powers conferred by Section 28 of the Odisha Urban Police Act, 2003, and Regulation 36 of the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissionerate (Traffic and Public Order) Regulation, 2008.
Traffic Restrictions on July 14 and 15:
On July 14, goods carriers (vehicles with six or more wheels including trucks and trailers) coming from Khurdha towards Cuttack via Bhubaneswar will be diverted at Pitapalli Square through Chandaka Square. Similarly, goods carriers from Cuttack side will be diverted at Balikuda Square towards Pitapalli Square via Chandaka Square.
On July 15, no goods carriers (six or more wheels) will be permitted to ply within the twin cities and on NH-16 from 6 AM to 7 PM.
The above restrictions do not apply to emergency vehicles including fire, ambulance, and police.
Commuters are advised to plan their routes in advance and use alternate roads to avoid inconvenience. The police seek the cooperation of the public for smooth traffic management during the President’s visit.
