Bhubaneswar: A tragic road accident at Kusunpur Square on the Cuttack-Chandbali Road, leaving two people dead and two others seriously injured.
According to reports, a cement-laden truck had parked on the roadside after its tyre burst. The mishap took place when a shrimp-loaded container truck coming from the Cuttack side collided with it from behind at high speed at around 5 am. The impact was severe, completely mangling the shrimp-loaded truck. Of the four persons travelling in the shrimp truck, two died on the spot, while the other two sustained critical injuries.
The injured were first rushed to Nischintakoili Hospital for immediate treatment and later shifted to a hospital in Cuttack for advanced care. The identities of the deceased are yet to be established.
Upon being informed, Sadar police reached the accident spot immediately and have initiated an investigation into the incident. Further details are awaited.
