Deogarh: A tusker body was discovered in Chiragunikudar village under the Riamal forest range in Deogarh forest division. Upon receiving the information, forest officials, led by Riamal Ranger Niranjan Dharua, reached the spot and initiated an investigation. DFO Rashmi G and ACF Swadhinata Sahani also visited the site to oversee the proceedings.
A team of experts from the forest department and the electricity department, accompanied by a scientific team, is conducting a thorough examination to determine the cause of death. While the exact reason remains unclear, the post-mortem and scientific reports are expected to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the elephant’s demise.
This incident comes on the heels of recent elephant-related tragedies in the region.
