Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police have arrested two individuals in connection with the robbery and assault on President’s Award-winning teacher Dwitichandra Sahu of Rayagada, and produced them before the court on Thursday.

Following the incident, Sahu lodged a complaint at the Laxmisagar Police Station, prompting a swift investigation. The police tracked down and arrested the culprits within days of the attack.
The incident sparked widespread condemnation from intellectuals, teacher associations, and civil society groups, who demanded strict action against the attackers. Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik also expressed concern over the incident, criticizing the rise in crime in the capital city and calling for stronger law enforcement.
Meanwhile, Sahu’s elder brother, Kirti Chandra Sahu, informed that doctors have declared Dwitichandra Sahu out of danger and that he is returning to Rayagada today after receiving medical care.
