Berhampur: Two persons were injured after being attacked by villagers at Madhurajholi under Kabisuryanagar police limits of Ganjam district over suspicion of practising witchcraft on Wednesday night.
Tension erupted in the village after the incident. Three platoons of police force were deployed in the village. Kabisuryanagar police have detained nine persons in this connection.
The injured persons have been admitted to Aska hospital. As per sources, there has been unrest in the village for the last two months as some people are suspected of practising witchcraft.
