Paradip: Two container trucks, allegedly laden with stolen diesel, were reduced to ashes in a major fire in a garage that engulfed the two vehicles near the Paradip Phosphates Limited (PPL) Chhak in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district in the wee hours of Wednesday.

Six fire tenders from Kujang and Paradip Fire Services were pressed into service to douse the blaze. The fire was extinguished after three hours of relentless efforts, but the two container trucks were completely damaged, Kartik Kumar Biswal, station officer at Kujang Fire Services station, said.

Meanwhile, the incident has brought to the fore the rampant business of stolen diesel and petrol in the region.

Later, the Kujang police reached the spot and started an investigation. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
