Baripada: In a devastating road accident, two persons were killed at Mahuladiha near Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district.
Akash Murmu and Bishwanath Soren, residents of Jirai village in Thiring police station were coming to on a bike when a pick-up van collided with the bike, causing both vehicles to catch fire.
According to reports, they were returning home in the evening after completing some work when the accident occurred. Locals attempted to extinguish the fire by pouring water, but it spread rapidly, engulfing the bike. Firefighters were eventually arrived and brought the blaze under control.
The police seized the bodies and sent them for autopsy. An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
