Two Killed, Seven Injured After Van Turns Turtle In Rayagada

Bhubaneswar: In a heart-breaking incident late last night, two people lost their lives and seven others sustained injuries when a pickup van loaded with rice overturned near Dukum gram panchayat under Bissam Cuttack police station limits in Rayagada district.

The vehicle, returning from a rice milling unit, reportedly lost control close to the village, leading to the fatal crash. One victim died on the spot, while the second succumbed to injuries during treatment at the hospital.

The deceased have been identified as Dinja Saraka and Madan Saraka. Among the injured, Hima Saraka remains in critical condition and has been referred to Berhampur for advanced care. Dhabaleeshwar Saraka, Ajit Saraka, and Naveen Saraka are receiving treatment at Bissam Cuttack hospital, while three others were discharged after first aid.
