Bhubaneswar: Two youths were killed in a road accident near Bhalupada village under the jurisdiction of Kokasara police station in Kalahandi district late on Friday night.
The deceased were identified as Bablu Nayak and Amarendra Majhi, both residents of Kendudongari village in the district. The duo was returning on a motorcycle after attending a wedding ceremony at Bhainripali village.
According to reports, the accident occurred on the Sunamal–Bhalupada road when the motorcycle lost control while negotiating a sharp turn near Bhalupada. Both riders were thrown off the vehicle and died on the spot from severe injuries.
Local residents noticed the bodies lying on the roadside on Saturday morning and informed the Kokasara police. A police team rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies, which were later sent to Koksara Community Health Centre (CHC) for post-mortem examination.
