Utkal University To Evict Unauthorised Staff Quarter Occupants From Tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: Utkal University has issued strict eviction orders to unauthorised occupants residing in staff quarters. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Jagneshwar Dandapat has directed all such residents to vacate the premises by the end of the day as part of the ongoing drive under ‘Operation Blur Star.’ Non-compliance will result in eviction starting tomorrow.

This action follows a recent crackdown on illegal occupancy in university hostels and is part of a broader administrative effort to restore university assets.

The university has made it clear that those who fail to comply with the deadline will face forcible eviction beginning tomorrow. Police support has already been sought to ensure a smooth and conflict-free implementation.

“Unauthorised occupants have been served notices to vacate by today. Non-compliance will lead to eviction tomorrow,” said ACP (Zone-V) Biswaranjan Senapati.
Regarding encroachments in surrounding slum areas (bastis), Senapati noted that the process involves additional steps.

“For slum evictions, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) must first issue notices before any further action can be taken. Although the process is lengthy, eviction will proceed in due course,” he added.
