Veteran CPI Leader Dibakar Nayak Passes Away At 72

Bhubaneswar: Veteran CPI leader Dibakar Nayak passed away at the age of 72 at the CPI state office, Bhagvati Bhavan in Bhubaneswar.

He had served as the state general secretary of the CPI for a long time and was a member of the party’s national executive. Born in Sendchitira village, Bhadrak district, Nayak began his political career through student politics, notably as the students’ union president of Bhadrak College.

The Communist Party has expressed condolences on his demise. His mortal remains will be kept at the party headquarters in Bhubaneswar until 11 AM today for party members and others to pay their last respects. Later, his last rites will be performed in his ancestral village at Sendchitira, Bhadrak.
