Bhubaneswar: A youth was shot and injured by two miscreants near the Balipatna police station under the Commissionerate Police in Bhubaneswar on Thursday night. The injured youth, identified as Dipti Ranjan Mohapatra alias Kuna from Guapur village, sustained a grievous wound in his left arm.
According to reports, Dipti was sitting on the veranda of his sister’s rented house near the police station around midnight when two youths on a bike shot him. Dipti claimed that after being shot, he ran away from the scene.
The police rescued Dipti and took him to the Capital Hospital for treatment. After receiving medical treatment, he was detained at the police station for further investigation.
The police suspect that the shooting might be linked to a previous enmity. A bullet and blood were found at the scene, and the police are continuing their investigation to determine the motive behind the attack.
