Vigilance Arrests Former PEO For Misappropriation Of Old Age Pension Funds In Jajpur

Bhubaneswar: The Vigilance has arrested a former Panchayat Executive Officer (PEO) for allegedly misappropriating government funds meant for Old Age Pension (OAP) beneficiaries in Pimpudia panchayat under Sukinda Block in Jajpur district.

Santosh Kumar Jena currently attached to Danagadi Block in Jajpur district, is accused of embezzling Rs 7.35 lakhs without distributing the funds to the intended beneficiaries.

Following a thorough investigation, the Vigilance department found evidence of misappropriation which led to his arrest. He was subsequently forwarded to the Court of the Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack.

A case (Cuttack Vigilance PS Case No 26/2025) has been registered against Jena under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and the Indian Penal Code.
