Bhubaneswar: In a fresh crackdown, the Odisha Vigilance officials on Tuesday conducted simultaneous raids at five locations linked to Aswini Meher, Steward in the Office of the Superintendent, VIMSAR, Burla, on allegations of possessing disproportionate assets (DA).
Acting on a complaint, Vigilance teams led by five Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), five Inspectors, three Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), and other supporting staff carried out the searches this morning based on search warrants issued by the Special Vigilance Judge, Sambalpur.
The raids are being conducted at the following five places in Sambalpur and Bargarh districts:
- Residential Govt Quarter at Medical Staff Colony, VIMSAR, Burla, Sambalpur.
- One under-construction four-storeyed building at Saurav Vihar, Burla, Sambalpur.
- One building at Pathanbandh, Burla.
- One building at Govindpalli, Bargarh district.
- Office chamber of Aswini Meher at the Superintendent’s Office, VIMSAR, Burla.
Searches are currently underway at all the locations. Further details regarding the recovery of assets and other findings are awaited.
This is the second major Vigilance operation in Sambalpur district today. Earlier this morning, the anti-corruption agency raided four properties belonging to Dhanurdhar Biswal, Establishment Officer-cum-Office Superintendent at VIMSAR, Burla, also on DA charges.
