Bhubaneswar: The Vigilance sleuths uncovered a vast array of assets linked to Biswanath Patro, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of Jeypore Block and In-charge Municipal Engineer of Jeypore Municipality on allegations of possessing disproportionate assets (DA) to his known sources of income.
The searches conducted by the Vigilance team have revealed an impressive list of assets, including two multi-storey buildings, one triple-storey building spanning 7,200 sqft in Jeypore town, and another double-storey building covering 3,400 sqft in Koli Sahi, Belaguntha in Ganjam.
Besides, the searches yielded a massive haul including 18 plots of land, with six in prime areas of Bhubaneswar, one in Jeypore town, one in Berhampur town, and 10 plots spanning 7 acres in Jagannathprasad in Ganjam, as well as 850 grams of gold jewellery, and undisclosed amounts in bank, insurance, and postal deposits, along with other investments.
The searches are being carried out by 1 additional Superintendent of Police (SP), two Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP) , eight inspectors, six assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs), and other supporting staff based on search warrants issued by the Special Vigilance Judge of Jeypore.
Raids are being carried out at Patro’s six following places in Jeypore, Ganjam and Bhubaneswar.
