Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance seized Rs 11,34,560 cash from the possession of Kishor Chandra Nayak, Assistant Soil Conservation Officer (ASCO), Rayagada, on Sunday and subsequently is conducting searches at three places associated with him.
On Sunday night, Nayak was intercepted by a team of Odisha Vigilance while carrying suspected ill-gotten cash of Rs 5,04,560 (kept in a bag pack) near Aravinda School, Rayagada on his way to his residential rented house at Rayagada by his bullet Motor Cycle.
As he could not account for the money satisfactorily, it was recovered from his possession and seized.
Soon after interception, during search of his rented residential house located near Mangala Mandir, Rayagada about 1 kilometre away from the interception place, another cash of Rs 6,30,000 was found. With this the total cash seized was 11,34,560.
Simultaneous searches are being conducted at the following places associated with him over disproportionate assets angle.
(1) His rented residential house located near Mangala Mandir, Rayagada.
(2) His wife’s residence at Patrapada Kishor Vihar, Lane-2, Khandagiri, Bhubaneswar and
(3) Parental house located at Mantriguda, Nabarangpur
