Boden (Nuapada): Irate villagers on Monday ransacked the premises of the Government High School at Budhapada under Boden police limits after a class-III student of the school died upon drowning in a canal while bathing.
The villagers have also blocked the Boden-Khariar main road.
Boden police after seizing the body have sent it to Khariar for post-mortem.
The deceased student has been identified as Keshav Jagat.
While the headmaster of the High School has informed his higher authorities in writing about the incident, police are trying to persuade the villagers to vacate the roadblock.
According to reports, Keshav along with his friends had gone to the canal for bathing. While bathing he slipped and drowned leading to his death.
