Puri: A tourist from West Bengal sustained injuries after he was allegedly assaulted by a vendor at the sea beach in Puri on Saturday afternoon.
The injured has been identified as Surjeet Kundu, a resident of the Howrah area in West Bengal.
According to reports, the incident occurred when Surjeet and his wife, Piyali, were purchasing some household items from vending stalls along the beach. An altercation reportedly broke out between Surjeet and a vendor over certain issues during the transaction.
During the argument, the vendor allegedly attacked Surjeet with an iron rod, leaving him injured.
Surjeet sustained a head injury in the incident and was rushed to the Puri District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), where he is currently undergoing treatment.
