Bhubaneswar: Western Odisha continued to experience intense heat with temperatures crossing 40°C in several places even before noon.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) report recorded at 11:30 am, Sambalpur recorded the highest temperature at 41.4°C. Hirakud followed closely with 40.2°C, while Jharsuguda registered 40°C. Rourkela recorded 37°C, whereas the state capital Bhubaneswar stood at a relatively lower 36.2°C.
