Wild Elephants Trample Man To Death In Ganjam’s Bhanjanagar

Bhubaneswar: A 40-year-old man was trampled to death by a herd of wild elephants at Belatuni village under Bhanjanagar block in Ganjam district.

The deceased has been identified as Bikram Nayak.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Friday night when the elephants strayed into Nayak’s house in Belatuni village, dragging him out and killing him.

The victim was a resident of Belatuni village under Bhanjanagar police station.

Upon being informed, local MLA Pradyumna Kumar Nayak, has directed the District Forest Officer (DFO) to take immediate action and provide financial assistance to the victim’s family as per government norms.

The incident has caused panic in the area, with many residents expressing concern over the increasing human-elephant conflict.
