Bhubaneswar: People in various regions of Odisha, especially the interior and northern parts of the state, are gradually experiencing winter chill. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature (night temperature) has dropped 2°C to 4°C below normal during the last 24 hours in several areas of the coastal state.
While the lowest minimum temperature of 12.8°C was recorded in the Koraput district of Odisha, the night temperature in many cities was below 15°C. According to the IMD, The lowest temperature of this month was recorded in G. Udayagiri, Kandhamal. Fog also occurred in several places on Tuesday reducing visibility.
The IMD predicted that the weather will change in south Odisha from today as the easterly wind is blowing from the Bay of Bengal into the state. The regional office of the IMD here has predicted that the weather will be cloudy in most places and there is a likelihood of light to moderate rain in some places. Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi and Kandhamal districts in Odisha may experience light rainfall till November 3.
