Balasore: A woman and her husband suffered serious burn injuries after the former allegedly set herself ablaze over a family dispute at Adia village in Odisha’s Balasore district on Sunday
The woman has been identified as Bhanumati Maharana. Her husband Sasikant Maharana was also injured while trying to save her.
According to reports, the couple had been quarrelling over some family matter and started a fight this morning. In a fit of anger, Bhanumati poured kerosene on herself and struck a match stick. Sasikant rushed to her help and sustained serious burn injuries. Both were rescued in a critical condition by family members and rushed to Soro Community Health Centre (CHC).
After preliminary treatment, Bhanumati was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
