Woman Dies After Brutal Attack Over Land Dispute In Cuttack

Cuttack: A woman died being brutally assaulted with sharp weapons over a land dispute at Mahanga block in Cuttack district on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Swarnalata Sahu of Akarpada village under Mahanga block.

According to reports, Swarnalata was attacked with axe and on multiple parts of her body including her head, neck, and chest. Swarnalata was critically injured and was immediately shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital, where she died while undergoing treatment.

According to the family, the attack was carried out by Indramani Sahu, who is Swarnalata’s uncle-in-law, along with his brothers. The family alleged that the assault stemmed from a long-standing land dispute between the two sides.

Further details regarding the arrest of the accused are awaited.
