Woman Dies, Husband Sustains Injuries As Bike Skids Off Speed-Breaker in Gop

Gop: A woman died while her husband sustained severe injuries when they were on their way to a temple on Tuesday. The road mishap took place near Gop Charichhak in Puri.

The deceased has been identified as Tirulata Nisanka. Tirulata along with her husband Raj Kishore Nisanka were going to a temple on the occasion of Bada Ekadashi.

The mishap took place when Raj Kishore lost his balance after bumping into a speed breaker and knocked his wife down.  Tirulata died on the spot while her husband got injured badly. Passersby rushed Raj Kishore to nearest hospital. As Raj Kishore’s condition was critical, he was shifted to a Bhubaneswar-based private hospital.

It is learnt that Tirulata was living with her husband near Madhipur in Konark while her in-laws reside at Golpur under Gop police limits.

Police, meanwhile, seized the bike and started an investigation into the matter.
