Rayagada: A woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances on Friday at Badamsingh village under Putasingh police limits in Rayagada district.
The deceased has been identified as Samila Gamang, a resident of Manikpur village. Meanwhile, Samila’s parents have brought dowry death allegations against their daughter’s in-laws.
While Samila’s in-laws termed it a suicide, Samila’s parents alleged that their daughter had been killed for dowry.
According to the complaint filed by Samila’s brother, Samila was married to Lukesh Sabar in 2021 after falling in love with Lukesh. Unhappy with Lukesh’s marriage with Samila, the groom’s family has been torturing his sister. Yesterday, they got a call from her in-laws who informed them about Samila’s death. They were told that Samila committed suicide by hanging herself when no one was there at home.
Police, meanwhile, recovered the body of Samila and sent it for post-mortem. Also, Samila’s husband has been detained for interrogation.
