Cuttack: Past enmity led to a gruesome killing of a woman in Cuttack on Monday.
The incident happened at Neherupalli under CRRI police limits. The accused identified as Muna is reported to have fled the scene after stabbing 50-years old Bharati Sahu to death.
According to sources, Bharati had filed a complaint against the accused with CRRI police. On the basis of Bharati’s complaint, police had registered a case in this connection and arrested Muna. He was behind the bar for a month. Muna used to have one-sided love for Bharati’s daughter. Muna was jailed earlier for troubling her daughter.
After releasing from jail, Muna had an argument with Bharati. The spat between them became so bitter that Muna stabbed Bharati several times before absconding.
Hearing Bharati’s voice, locals rushed Bharati to SCB Medical College and Hospital where doctors declared her dead.
It is learnt that several cases have been pending against the accused.
