Malkangiri: In a shocking incident, a 38-year-old woman was allegedly beaten to death by her husband at Ginipalli village under M.V.79 police station in Malkangiri district late on Saturday night after she refused to serve him liquor.
The deceased has been identified as Prabhati Kunj.
According to reports, her husband Bhima Kunj, a habitual drinker, attacked her with a spade after she served homemade country liquor to some workers but denied him. He later inserted a stick into her private parts and continued the assault, leading to her death.
Villagers who witnessed the brutal attack overpowered Bhima and handed him over to the police. Following a complaint, he was detained and an investigation has been launched.
The body has been sent for post-mortem, police said.
