Bhubaneswar: Police recovered a mutilated body of a woman from the banks of the Daya river on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar on Tuesday. The body with multiple injury marks was spotted near the Daya Bridge under Dhauli police limits.
Local villagers first spotted the body of the woman near the Lingipur Milan ground today early morning and informed the police. The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.
On being informed, a team from the Dhauli police station has reached the spot and sent the body for autopsy. The police suspect that the woman died about 10 to 12 days ago.
The police have registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating the matter. The Dhauli police have sought the cooperation of the nearby police stations to find the identity of the woman.
