Bhubaneswar: The body of a young dentist was recovered from railway tracks near Bhubaneswar’s Patia railway station and Kalarahanga level crossing on Tuesday, police said.
The deceased was identified as Amrut Jena, who was working as a dental practitioner at a private hospital in the area.
According to preliminary information, Jena’s scooter was found parked near the tracks, while his body was discovered lying on the railway line. Investigators suspect that he may have been hit by a train while attempting to cross the tracks, though the exact circumstances leading to his death are yet to be established.
The Government Railway Police (GRP) at Mancheswar have registered an unnatural death case and launched an investigation. Police said evidence from the spot and other available clues are being examined to ascertain the cause of death.
