Baripada: Baripada Sadar police on Sunday arrested a youth on charges of molesting a minor girl when she was alone at home. The accused was forwarded to court and subsequently sent to judicial custody.
The accused has been identified as Budhiram (27), a resident of Govindchandrapur village under Baripada Sadar police limits in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district.
According to the FIR lodged in this connection, Sulochana Singh, wife of Ruhiya Singh of Govindchandrapur under Kochila Ghati lodged a complaint with the Baripada Sadar police alleging that her neighbor Budhiram entered their house on Thursday last and molested her niece when no one was at home. When her family members returned home, the girl narrated her woes to them.
Acting on the complaint filed by Sulochana Singh, police arrested Budhiram and forwarded him to court. Meanwhile, Baripada Sadar SDPO Sujith Pradhan informed that they have launched an investigation into the case.
