Bargarh: A youth allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree at Jamutipali village under Gaisilat police limits in Bargarh district.
On a tip-off, police recovered the body and began a probe to ascertain the exact reason of his death.
The deceased has been identified as Pravakar Rout (40) of Jamutpali village. He had come to his relative’s house at Melchhamunda. Pravakar felt unwell for which he was taken to a hospital in Sohela in an ambulance the day before yesterday. Before reaching the hospital, he asked the ambulance driver to stop between Saradhabali and Ichhapali so that he could attend to nature’s call.
As he delayed to return, the ambulance driver and other staff searched for Pravakar but in vain.
However, locals found him hanging from a tree and informed the police.
On a tip-off, a team of Sohela police including Inspector Pranaya Murmu and ASI Sarbeswar Sahu reached the spot and recovered the body.
Based on a complaint filed by the deceased’s brother, police registered an unnatural death case in this connection and sent the body for post-mortem.
