Koraput: A young man has been electrocuted while fishing in a pond, using electricity.
This incident took place at Chintaguda village under Narayanpatna police limits in Koraput district on Thursday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Kamia Kenaduruka, a resident of Chintaguda village.
He along with his friends used to take the help of electricity to catch fish in the pond. Like every day, he went out for fishing with his friends on Thursday. Kamia, however, came in contact with the live wires and became critical.
His friends rushed him to a nearby hospital in critical condition. However, doctors declared him dead.
It is learnt that fishing activity using electricity has been increasing in recent years at the locality.
