Keonjhar: A youth drowned to death in river Baitarini at Anandapur in Keonjhar district today. The deceased youth has been identified as Ashish Prusty.
According to reports, Ashish and four of his friends had gone to river Baitarini at Anandapur to take a bath. Suddenly, Ashish and one of his friends were seen drowning in the river. While locals present on the river bank managed to rescue one of the youths, Fire Service personnel fished out Ashish from the river.
He was rushed to the Sub Divisional Hospital at Anandapur where he was declared ‘brought dead’ by the attending doctors.
A pall of gloom has descended on the area following the tragic incident.
