Hacked To Death In Mayurbhanj

Bhubaneswar: A youth was allegedly found murdered near a local market in Upisahi village under Kaptipada police limits in Mayurbhanj district on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Manik Singh, a resident of Dholagandi village. His mutilated body was recovered near a haat (weekly market) in the vicinity of Upisahi.

According to reports, Singh had gone to the market on Monday but failed to return home. On Tuesday morning, locals spotted his body and alerted his family members, who later reached the spot and identified the deceased.

Preliminary reports suggest that Singh was attacked with a sharp weapon, with visible stab wounds to the back of his head.

On being informed, police personnel arrived at the scene, recovered the body for post-mortem, and initiated an investigation.
