Bhadrak: One youth went missing after he and his friend jumped into the Salandi River from Santhia Bridge in Bhadrak while filming a reel for social media. The incident occurred near the Santhia Bridge under Puruna Bazar police station limits of Bhadrak.

According to reports, the two youths, identified as Himanshu Shekhar Nayak and Mithun Nayak, both hailing from Keonjhar district and working in Bhadrak, were filming an adventurous reel by leaping into the river. Himanshu jumped first into the river. Mithun followed him shortly after. While Himanshu successfully swam back to the riverbank, Mithun failed to surface and went missing due to strong currents.

Alarmed locals immediately informed the fire brigade. Fire service personnel along with police teams promptly reached the spot and launched a search operation.

The youth who shot the video has been detained by the police for questioning.

Till the last report came in, an intensive search operation is underway to locate the missing youth, Mithun.
