Bhubaneswar: A youth has gone missing while taking bath in Ayapalli sea near Chhatrapur in Ganjam district, on Wednesday.
The missing youth has been identified as Hemansen Behera of Aryapalli village.
He along with his five friends were taking bath in the sea when strong current swept him away. He screamed for help but his friends failed to rescue him. Within a few seconds, he drowned in the Sea. Later, fire services personnel, the Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) team and police launched a rescue operation but failed to trace him till night.
Upon being informed, Chhatrapur Sub-divisional Police Officer (SDPO) reached the spot. Till the last report came in, Hemansen’s body has not been recovered.
