Bhubaneswar: Showing prompt action and exemplary courage, the Balianta Fire Team of Bhubaneswar rescued a youth alive after he reportedly jumped into the Kuakhai river.
The incident took place near the Tankapani bridge on Sunday night.
According to reports, the youth, identified as 21-year-old Suryanarayan Jena, jumped into the river allegedly due to some unknown reason.
Upon being informed, the Balianta Fire Station team led by Station Officer Gobinda Chandra Jena rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation immediately.
The team managed to rescue the youth alive from the river. He was later shifted to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar for medical treatment.
