Bhubaneswar: The half-burnt body of an unidentified young man was recovered from the Balisahi-Erundipathara Road under Gania police station limits in Nayagarh district on Tuesday morning.

According to reports, the deceased had the name ‘Sanjay’ written on his right hand and was wearing a bracelet. While parts of his body were charred, the full identity of the victim is yet to be established.

Gania police ASI Shah Alam Khan reached the spot and has initiated an investigation. He also informed that a scientific team will visit the location tomorrow for further examination and evidence collection.

Based on the circumstances at the crime scene, the police suspect it to be a case of murder followed by an attempt to burn the body to destroy evidence. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the identity of the deceased and the motive behind the incident.
