Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has initiated the recruitment process for various Boards and Corporations at the official level.

The Public Enterprises Department has issued a letter regarding appointments and has provided details of vacant posts in state PSUs. The department aims to fill 1,183 positions by June 30.

The state government had earlier asked all departments for details on empty posts in their boards and corporations, and how many people were hired after the new government came to power.  It was learnt that 17 departments gave data for 32 boards and corporations. Out of these, 677 people have been hired since the new government took charge. But 17 boards and corporations haven’t made any hires at all during this time. Several Board and Corporation Chairman posts have remained vacant for nearly two years.

Keeping it in mind, the state government has indicated that these vacancies will be filled soon. Recently, during the Chief Minister and State BJP President’s visit to Delhi, discussions were held with central leadership on this matter. The government is now pushing for a time-bound and expedited recruitment drive to address the long-pending vacancies across state public sector undertakings.
