Bhubaneswar: Odisha is reeling under very hot and humid conditions, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) recording a sharp rise in temperatures across the state by 11:30 am today.
Bhubaneswar was the hottest among major cities, touching 38°C. Other places also saw high temperatures such as Sambalpur recorded 36.6°C, Jharsuguda 36°C, Hirakud 35.6°C, and Puri 35.4°C.
The IMD has asked people to stay cautious. To avoid heat-related illnesses, the IMD has advised people to drink water regularly to stay hydrated, wear light-coloured and loose clothes, and use a hat, umbrella, sunglasses, and sunscreen when outdoors. People are also advised to avoid going out during peak heat hours between 11 PM and 3 PM.
