Bhubaneswar: The Regional Transport Office (RTO) carried out a special inspection drive on buses, during which officials issued 47 challans for violations of transport rules and suspended two driving licences, Commerce and Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena said on Tuesday.
According to the minister, the enforcement action was taken to ensure compliance with road safety regulations and improve discipline among public transport operators.
During the drive, RTO teams checked multiple buses across routes and identified several cases of rule violations. Penalties were imposed accordingly, resulting in the collection of Rs 1,08,068 in fines.
The enforcement drive will continue in the coming days to strengthen road safety measures and curb traffic violations across the state.
