Baripada: Three people were killed while another person was critically wounded after coming under a truck near Nuagaon Chhak under Bisoi police limits in Mayurbhanj district late Sunday night.
As per sources, the four persons were standing along the road when the speeding truck lost balance and overturned on them. On getting information, Bisoi police rushed to the spot and pulled them out from under the truck.
However, three of them had died. The injured was first rushed to Bisoi Community Health Centre (CHC) from where he was referred to Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College & Hospital in Baripada.
The deceased have been identified as Salman Hasdah and Susant Mahanta of Bangiriposi and Sukra Mahali of Jharpokharia. The driver and helper of the truck fled the spot after the mishap. A probe has been initiated into the matter.
