Bhubaneswar: At least 37 students have fallen sick after consuming the offering (prasad) during Ganesh puja. As per reports these students belong to two schools in Mayurbhanj and Balasore districts.
Twenty-five students are from a primary school in Baunsabania panchayat in Balasore’s Oupada block. All the children belong to Kunia village. The others are from Ekalavya Model School in Dhanghera in Mayurbhanj district’s Khunta block.
The students complained of vomiting and nausea after eating the prasad. They were rushed to the local hospitals for treatment. Fortunately, all the students responded to the treatment and were discharged from the hospital.
