Keonjhar: A businessman and his wife were shot dead while their 11-year-old son had a narrow escape at Lasarda village under Bolani police limits of Keonjhar district on Monday night.
The deceased persons have been identified as Laxmidhar Apat and Manjulata Apat. Laxmidhar was the owner of a grocery shop.
Reportedly, around four to five bike-borne miscreants arrived at Laxmidhar’s shop yesterday and open fired on him and his wife. Both of them died on the spot while their son escaped unhurt.
Political rivalry is suspected to be the reason behind the crime. Meanwhile, Bolani Police have initiated a probe to ascertain the truth.
