Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate police will intensify patrolling in the residential area in the city during Dussehra festival.
ACP ( Zone-II) Girija Chakravarti advised the residents to inform the local police before going out for pandal-hopping.
“They should lock all the doors of their and inform their neighbours. They should also call to the local police station so that we can intensify our PCR patrolling in that area,” he said.
As the city is all set to celebrate the Dussehra with pomp and gaiety, heavy crowd of revelers is expected this time. Criminals may also take advantage of crowd and plan for dacoity and loot. To put a check on anti-social elements, police will ply more PCR vehicles in every lane and by-lane of the city. The PCR will also keep a close watch of the criminals and their activities.
The city will be under heavy security blanket for six days starting October 20, police commissioner S Priyadarshi had said earlier.
As many as 31 platoons of force will be deployed in the city. The force will be led by 12 Additional DCPs, 23 ACPs, 41 inspectors, 151 ASIs, 12 traffic officers, 500 constables, and more than 200 home guards. Most parts of the city will be under CCTV surveillance,” the Commissioner had informed.
