Dhenkanal: In a tragic incident, a farmer drowned to death on Friday in the Rengali-Bhairpur canal under Kamakshyanagar police limits in Dhenkanal district.
The deceased farmer has been identified as Chhakadi Bisoi of Manjakana village in Kadua panchayat under Kamakshyanagar police limits.
According to reports, today Chhakadi had gone to irrigate his farmland at Hadagudi near his village. After irrigating his field, Chhakadi went to the canal to take a bath. While bathing in the canal he got drowned.
On being informed, Fire Service personnel from Kamakshyanagar reached the spot and recovered Chhakadi’s body from the canal.
